Ten Black Dots This Storytime STEM-Pack includes all the materials you need to engage kids in a mathematics activity that addresses the concept of counting and cardinality in a fun and creative way.  Children order train car cards, using dot images on the side of each car to engage them in counting. Next they listen to the popular children’s book Ten Black Dots that shows dots being used to represent objects in images. The children then create their own pictures, using a specific number of black and colored dots provided by the adult to represent an image of their choice. The activity concludes with children displaying their art work and explaining how they determine which picture represents a specific number between 0-10.
