Tradescantia 'Brainstorm', is a neat introduction, coupling a shorter stature and intense blooms.   This variety outperforms other purple types by being more landscape friendly and having a longer bloom window.  These intense blooms are a great addition to any mid-border planting.  Can also be grown in containers.  Mature Plant Size: 20" Tall, 16" Spread  Bloom Time: May- September Light Exposure: Full Sun, Partial Shade Soil Type/pH: Well-drained/6.0-7.0 Hardiness Zones: 5-8 Fertilizer: If using compost apply an 1" at planting time and side dress annually in late fall or early spring.  If using a granular or scratch fertilizer, we recommend organic formulations.  Apply an all-purpose formula in early spring annually.  It is only recommended to use liquid fertilizers when the growth is slow, and this is not normally needed. Container Size: 4.5" Pot Patented Plant: PP35,884 - Cannot Be Propagated
