Varietal(s) Caturra, Bourbon About this coffee Guatemala Manos de Mujer comes from the ACODIHUE cooperative in the mountainous territory of Cuchumatan, Huehuetenango. The cooperative was founded in 1996 after several development projects were completed in the area by the European Union. This coffee is produced entirely by women members of ACODIHUE’s network of women growers, which is referred to locally as Awal Nan (Siembra de Mujer) in their native Mam language. Impact: Eighty percent of ACODIHUE’s coffee is grown and produced by indigenous women in the mountainous territory of Cuchumatan, Huehuetenango. This high number of women producers is the result of widowing and men migrating into the United States, leaving the women behind to take care of the kids and their land. ACODIHUE certified the women
