Late 19th Century American 4/4 violin, labeled as Harry B. Jay, 1899, Aurora, IL A very rare example from this American musical instrument workshop, known for brass but also violin family, and made right here in Illinois over a century ago.  Very good condition, normal player-wear of varnish throughout, showcasing the golden ground. (Fun musical history fact on this violin...the owner's brother performed with none other than John Philip Sousa!)
