Tradescantia Sweet Kate Common Name: Spiderwort Clumps of grassy like bright chartreuse foliage with purple flowers contrast nicely. If planted in more sun the foliage will turn to a yellow color. Flowers from late spring and throughout summer. It gets its common name from a secretion that is released when cut becomes threadlike and silky upon hardening similar to a spider's web. Use in beds and borders. Attracts butterflies. The perfect addition to the shade garden. Height: 24 Spread: 24-30" Exposure: Part sun to shade. Zone: 3-9  Photos courtesy of Bailey Nurseries
