The Elephant in the Dark

Loxodonta Africana- Serengeti, Tanazania Inspired by the poem by Mevlana Celaladdin Rumi ( the Sufi mystic and poet)- Several men are tasked with identifying an animal with their hands in a darkened room to feel, rather than seeing the animal as a whole. Each identifies a piece of the elephant accurately from their perspective, but all fail to recognize the whole. The elephant, (I believe) symbolizes God in the story, and each person their own religious viewpoint. It is a story of religious tolerance and that all perspectives have significance and are part of recognizing the whole, but yet we are all in need of a candle to show the full picture  Captured on analog 120mm "medium format" film negative providing this image with the exceptional clarity and quality suitable for large scale prints   The Elephant in the Dark- Mevlana Celaladdin RUMI Some Hindus have an elephant to show. No one here has ever seen an elephant. They bring it at night to a dark room. One by one, we go in the d
