Also called a pin frog.The lotus kenzan has spiraled out needles at a diagonal that allows stems to be inserted securely at angles closer to the horizontal surface more easily. There are two kinds of needles on the plate – thicker ones in the middle to hold branches and thinner ones in the exterior ring to hold flower stems.
