1940s Black Dress with Three Dimensional Applique and Soutache
The textile of this dress is unmarked, black, and is lightweight. This dress is unlined with three quarter length sleeves, a fitted waist, and a straight skirt. The bodice is covered with three dimensional applique and soutache in floral designs and has buttons up the front. There are holes in the back of the wearer's left arm and in the front of the skirt, but these would be difficult to see if worn with a black slip underneath. There are also visible repairs and multiple snags to the fabric, along with general signs of wear. Despite these issues, this dress is very unique and has lots life left!
