1940s Black Femme Fatale Dress with Gold Sequins
Strong shoulders are a classic feature of 1940s pieces, and I love how the sequins highlight the shoulders of this dress. The textile of this dress is unmarked, black rayon crepe. This dress is unlined with shoulder pads, long sleeves, a belted back, and a straight skirt. There are gold-tone sequins on either arm, and the belt at the waist actually fastens in the back - a very lovely touch! Some of the sequins are missing (this is very normal with wear), there are some small snags to the fabric, and there is one very faint spot of discoloration on the front of the skirt. There is also discoloration inside the collar (not visible when worn) and some wear to the back of the belt. All of these issues are incredibly subtle and this dress presents beautifully!
