1950s Black Dress with Velvet Collar and Pockets

I love love love that big, decorative pocket on the front of this 1950s dress! The textile of this dress is unmarked, black rayon, with black velvet at the collar and front decorative pocket. This dress is lightweight and is good for warmer season wear. The dress is unlined. This dress has been altered, and the waist has been shortened substantially (see pictures for images of the visible stitching at the waist from the alteration). This causes the belt to sit right atop the lowest button.
