1950s Blue Gabardine Hourglass Princess Coat with Full Sleeves
This 1950s princess coat is so elegant! The textile is fine wool gabardine in navy blue, lighter weight for spring/fall wear (not heavy enough for a cold winter). Double breasted buttons up the front, ties inside at the waist. Bound button holes, covered buttons. Side panels, V-gusset at the back of the waist, free hanging crepe lining in navy blue. The sleeves are quite full through elbow and gather at the wrist with pleated darts and a stylish cuff. There is some fullness to the skirt, but not enough to wear over a large crinoline. Excellent construction and great details!
