Alocasia species are native to the tropical and subtropical rainforests of Southeast Asia.The plant is celebrated for its glossy, dark green, arrow-shaped leaves with prominent, silvery-green to white veining that gives them a textured, almost scaly appearance (hence the 'Dragon' name). The most distinctive feature is the plant's vivid pink-to-red stems (petioles) which provide a dramatic color contrast. It typically reaches a compact height of 2-3 feet indoors.
