Aloe vera is distinguished by its thick, pointed, and juicy green leaves with a toothed border that can grow to be 12–19 inches long. Each leaf has a slimy layer that retains water, making the leaves thick. The "gel" that people associate with aloe vera products is this water-filled tissue. Aloe Vera is a faster growing succulent species and can reach approximately 18” tall. This is an evergreen perennial plant and its gel is widely known to relieve sunburn and help heal wounds.
