This rare succulent has tubular grayish green stems with dark green and purple markings below the petioles. Its leaves are usually divided into leaflets with green upper sides and purple undersides. During winter, Senecio articulatus blooms small white cup-shaped flowers borne in clusters at the end of a long stem of 15 to 25 cm (5–8 inch). Plants may be shipped bare root.
