- A B O U T -  Full disclosure, I grew up with southern roots coming from both sides of my genetic pool- Louisiana on my mom's side, Arkansas on my Dad's. So though I wasn't raised in the southern part of the US, I was still raised on the food of my parent's childhoods! Fried okra, biscuits and gravy, biscuits and chocolate gravy (omg), fish fry-ups, and of course- huge, massive, barbecues. My dad has an unconventional way of cooking up his ribs, with a closely guarded family secret sauce.
