Rare vintage Showa Ear Esso Exxon safety gas attendant jacket from Japan. This retro uniform is not sold to the public and is no longer in circulation. This item has been out of circulation for decades and was only distributed to staff. This safety jacket has double insulation to keep you warm and offers reflective logos on the front and the back of the jacket. Esso Japan was a subsidiary of ExxonMobil Corporation that operated in Japan from 1962 to 2019. The company was formed as Esso Standard Sekiyu K.K. in 1962, following the dissolution of the Standard Vacuum Oil Company. It became Esso Sekiyu K.K. in 1982. After the Exxon and Mobil merger in 1999, the Japanese subsidiaries were reorganized as ExxonMobil Y.K. in 2002, which spun off its downstream business to EMG Marketing G.K. in 2012, and acquired as a subsidiary by TonenGeneral Sekiyu K.K. in the same year.
