TransGo 604 SHIFT KIT® Valve Body Repair Kit for A604, 41TE, A606, 42LE, and 42RLE Transmissions This TransGo 604 SHIFT KIT® Valve Body Repair Kit is designed for 1989 and newer Chrysler, Plymouth, Dodge, Eagle, Ram, Jeep, and Mitsubishi vehicles equipped with A604/41TE, A606/42LE, and 42RLE automatic transmissions that do not have a variable line pressure solenoid and sensor. For models equipped with a VLP solenoid and sensor, use #SK 42RLE-VLP. Common issues with these transmissions include delayed engagement in forward or reverse, a clunk during 4-3 coast downshifts, and a clunk during 2-1 coast downshifts. Common Issues Addressed: The 4-3 coast clunk is typically caused by a failing underdrive clutch inner piston seal. The TransGo SHIFT KIT® provides a specially engineered tuff seal and expander wire to fix this issue. Delayed forward or reverse engagement, along with the 2-1 coast downshift clunk, often occurs due to aging, specifically when the low-reverse piston housing gasket shrinks and starts leaking. This kit includes a specially designed non-shrinking gasket to resolve this problem. Accumulator spacers are included to speed up the releasing clutch exhaust, resulting in quicker, cleaner shifts.
