Transgo Kit Reverse Abuse Bore (Divider) Plugs 4L60E 4L65E 4L70E
TransGo Steel Plug Solution for 4L60E, 4L65E, 4L70E Transmissions (1993-2015) Vehicles from 1993 and newer equipped with General Motors 4L60E, 4L65E, and 4L70E automatic transmissions often experience 3-4 clutch failure. A frequently overlooked cause of this issue is leakage at the reverse abuse plug in the valve body. This plug serves as both a separator and a seal between the 3-2 downshift valve and the reverse abuse valve. In third gear, the 3-4 clutch oil travels between the 3-2 downshift valve and the plug, moving the valve towards the spring. The plug, subject to constant spring force on one side and alternating 3-4 clutch oil pressure on the other, tends to move slightly in its bore with each clutch oil cycle. Initially held in place by a roll pin, the factory aluminum bore plug gradually wears out, allowing more 3-4 clutch oil to leak into the sump. This leakage, occurring downstream of an orifice feeding the 3-4 clutch, can lead to a 2-3 shift flare or overlap, ultimately dama
