In this piece, I aimed to capture the quiet harmony of nature through the graceful presence of two Mandarin ducks—one adorned in vibrant colors and the other in gentle, muted tones. These birds, often seen as symbols of love and fidelity, move together in still water, each complementing the other without overshadowing. What drew me to this subject was the contrast—not just in color or form, but in how two beings can be so different and yet belong so fully beside one another. The male’s bold, ornamental plumage and the female’s soft, understated beauty reflect the balance I often look for in life and relationships. They are opposites, but not in conflict. They float together, each making space for the other. Painting this scene was a meditation in itself. Every stroke was an attempt to honor the elegance of these creatures and the peaceful world they inhabit—one we so often rush past without noticing. My goal was not just realism, but a sense of stillness, presence, and quiet connection
