The Penny Pendant
Ever remember going on a school field trip to the zoo or the aquarium and get a little penny souvenir? This piece was inspired by a little nostalgia and a little moment of everyday love meant to satisfy your longest necklace layer. The back engraving has an ode to the ancient wabi-sabi Japanese idea that there is beauty in simplicity and imperfection. There are many interpretations of this, but when I was creating this piece, Covid came upon the world, and it seemed like creating and buying so many “things” did not matter as much and paring back and finding new ways to love and appreciate what I have, and allowing new room for beauty that could evoke feeling. This piece is obviously a thing, but it’s a piece that stands alone to wear every day for all occasions for the test of time. She layers beautifully as your longest layer to your necklace stack. With time she will build even more character, your own little coin wearing with life. Solid 14k yellow gold (can do 18k or 22k or rose
