Fused Glass Pendant

This pendant is part of my Heart Series collection. It has a copper heart inclusion and is fused with mauve opalescent and amethyst transparent glass. The heart fires to a lovely magenta hue. The pendant captured some nice bubbles in the process of adding the heart which creates another unique design element! At its widest points this pendant is 1.5" long and 1.313" wide.These pendants are created by firing multiple layers of glass for many hours in a hot kiln at temperatures exceeding 1400 degrees Fahrenheit. The glass is allowed to cool and then cold worked (cutting and grinding) into a pleasing organic shape. Each piece is then returned to the kiln and fired again to give it a nice thick polished edge.Please note that small bubbles can form between the layers of glass where air has become trapped as the piece fully fuses.
