A pink,mauve, golden ocher, gray and red sienna colored dolomite maiden figure created by the now deceased Rhoda Quam depicting a mother with a turquoise and jet inlaid face holding her baby. On the back side of the carving Rhoda has incised in low relief a corn maiden with a spiny oyster face and a mother with a melon shell inlaid face. Maidens symbolize abundance, fertility and feminine energy & the corn maiden is venerated in Zuni for giving up her life for the health of the community.
