Soapstone Mountain Lion by Albert Eustace

A muted grayish green and gray soapstone prowling mountain lion carved by Albert Eustace taking one step forward with its left front foot as it looks slightly to its right side with big turquoise inlaid eyes. The tail is carved in low relief extending downwards and slightly against the back right leg. For the Zuni, the lion represents the guardian of the north - he is the master hunter, revered for intelligence, prowess and strength of will.
