Sandstone Mountain Lion by Melvin Sandoval

A cream/light gray colored sandstone long neck mountain lion carved by Melvin Sandoval looking to its right side. The top of the back is a soft light red sienna color with the tail carved in the traditional Zuni style - wrapping over the back. Melvin has added a fantastic side bundle featuring a turquoise arrowhead with melon shell and coral heishi surrounding one turquoise bead. For the Zuni, the lion represents the guardian of the north - he is the master hunter, revered for intelligence, prowess and strength of will.
