Zuni Rock (travertine) Mountain Lion by Cody Nastacio

A inquisitive golden ocher, tan and gray colored Zuni rock mountain lion with turquoise inlaid eyes carved by Cody Nastacio. Cody carved the legs as two forms - adding detail at the feet to differentiate them and he created a substantial upright tail to bring up the rear. For the Zuni, the lion represents the guardian of the north - he is the master hunter, revered for intelligence, prowess and strength of will. The mountain lion enjoys the prestige of being one of the most capable predators, and therefore conveys to man a spirit to refine goals, preserve, and achieve.
