Calcium-D-Glucarate

Calcium D-Glucarate is calcium bound to D-glucaric acid, which is a compound naturally produced in small amounts by the human body and is abundantly found in various plant foods, such as broccoli, cabbage, kale, apples, oranges, and grapefruit.  Research shows that D-glucaric acid derivatives, such as calcium D-glucarate, help support the body’s natural elimination of toxins and excess steroid hormones.  Calcium D-Glucarate helps to block the recycling of toxins and estrogens from the gut microbiome. It works by blocking an enzyme called beta-glucuronidase, which is made by certain gut bacteria. We frequently see high beta-glucuronidase in women suffering from Estrogen Dominance.  Estrogen Dominance can present as fibroids, endometriosis, heavy periods, dense breasts, breast cysts, ovarian cysts, thyroid nodules, or even breast cancer.
