MUG DIARIES: Airheads

The Airheads Meet the Airheads. A large collection of helium ballooned characters. The airheads are residents in Dementialand based on the book ‘Wonders In Dementialand’ and the YouTube Podcast. They are outspoken guides throughout the book navigating the world around them – trying to make sense of what seems overwhelming and gigantic. They bring a playful lightness to the room as they float slightly above everyone’s heads, compelling all visitors to look up. The ballooned characters Al, Flo, Vida, Lewy, Parker and Honey Hunter have distinctive personalities. They make all craziness palpable and even magical at times. In the book’s final chapter, I gathered the group, clutched their ribbons in my hand and cut them loose. They left me like white birds. They ran to a small hole in the sky and disappeared.
