Silicone Edge Graphics (SEG) were formally introduced at the 2008 EuroShop—the world’s largest trade fair—and quickly caught on as an ideal signage solution for convention and trade show graphics thanks to their modular design, durability, and ease of assembly. Before SEG frames, most trade show graphics were printed direct on heavy stock paper, acrylic, Sintra PVC or Lexan backing. These options all proved functional, but the materials were relatively heavy, difficult to ship, cumbersome to install on site, and prone to damage. Fabric graphics were in the mix as well but suffered from lower image resolution until dye sublimation printing technology and fabric quality began to improve. In addition, the frames for these older fabric graphics systems were often plain at best, or unsightly at worst. SEG frames addressed all of these limitations.
