Diversion Book Safe

Safes have been around for a long time. They were invented in the 13th century BC and though they were initially made with wood, eventually they were made with assorted types of metal. They were kept secure by keys and/or combination locks but it rarely prevented thieves from “picking” the lock or “cracking” the combination. In the 20th century, we see the introduction of diversion safes (also called disguised safe or hidden safe). This type of safe is disguised as ordinary household products or objects and is a place to hide small valuables or cash. Imagine a hairbrush that functions as a safe! Safes come in all shapes and sizes and are disguised in many different objects like books, household products, drink cans, rocks, etc. They don’t require locks or keys and have the distinct ability to “hide in plain sight”.
