Collected, grafted and locally grown! On Malus fusca (Pacific Crabapple) rootstock for better hardiness in the PNW. Plant Description: A compact tree producing large, sweet, and crisp apple that was discovered in Chehalis, Washington, in the 1930s. It is a versatile fruit, excellent for fresh eating, baking, making sauce, and cider. Known for being a productive, reliable tree with great scab & mildew resistance. Watering needs: regular, can tolerate dry summers once established Sun needs: full sun Pollination needs: somewhat self fertile, but another variety nearby will increase yield Fruiting Time: ripens mid-late September
