Plant Description: An extremely valuable native species, local to Willamette Valley prairies, this short lived perennial (4-8 years) grows to be about a foot tall, with hairy stems and leaves that can feel sticky, coupled with inflorescences of cheery yellow flowers.  Height: 12 inches Width: 8-12 inches Light requirements: Full sun, does not tolerate shade, including light shade from nearby taller forbs Water requirements: Medium-dry, drought tolerant Soil requirements: Well draining Portland Plant List (PPL): Yes Landscape use and ecological function: Golden Paintbrush is a beautiful grass land species.
