Plant Description: Native to North America, the American Licorice is a plant in the pea/bean family with white flowers tinged in green/yellow. The burrs ripen into pods containing a bean-like seed, and the root is highly sought after for its medicinal properties. It can be consumed raw or roasted and has been used by Native peoples for various medicinal purposes.
