Plant Description: The largest growing spruce. Needs are often sharp tipped and triangular or flat. Extremely tall, up to 230 feet, with bright, deep green needles. Grows both seed and pollen cones with seed cones being brown and pollen cones more purple.  Height: up to 230 feet Watering needs: moist, well draining Sun needs: full sun Soil needs: well draining Landscape Use and Ecological Function: Sitka Spruce provides many habitat opportunities for a variety of animals, particularly coverage, nesting, and food for native birds.
