Thermopsis is sometimes referred to as "false lupine" because of their distinct similarities. The slender goldenbanner has lupine-like spires of sunny yellow pea-like flowers that are held up above bunches of rich-green, ternately compound leaves. This species is rhizomatous so you will get some spread - but it is not aggressive. Considered rare in some areas, it is a welcome addition to Willamette Wildlings' seed offerings. Great for pollinators - especially bumblebees! Per/Ann: Perennial Sun/Shade: Full sun to part shade Zones: 4-9  Bloomtime: late spring Height: 3 ft  Habitat: mixed woodland, forest edges, meadows and grasslands. Good drainage. Stratification: long 12-16 weeks. This can be shortened with scarification.
