A lovely tufted bunch-grass of moist prairies. Smaller in stature than the more well-known tufted hairgrass, but with a similar feel. Upright, yet slightly fountainous and visually appealing, this is one of Willamette Wildlings' favorite moist prairie grasses. Fine-textured, silky, flowerheads with a ruby sheen form in mid-spring. With an airy subtlety, they make a soft-spoken statement - yes, grasses can work in your garden composition. And, they are a must for any meadowscaping endeavor. While this is a bentgrass, please do not confuse it with the non-native, invasive creeping bentgrass which unfortunately is so prevalent in our valley. This native bentgrass does not spread by stolons, it is mound forming.
