Mother of Pearl Gothic Flower Archway Necklace

My current obsession is Gothic arches. I've loved the form for a long time, but right now I love thinking of them as doorways into the divine. I'm so excited to play more with the poetry of doorways in my work. This necklace has a mother of pearl flower that is sliced open to reveal the archway. My thoughts with this piece are about plants being a doorway to a different world and helping us connect to the earth.  The chain is sterling silver with a black patina, you don't need to clean the necklace as it is already oxidized.
