The first insect Teresa created, while still living in New York City, was the Fly. The common ubiquitous household insect created in antiqued Sterling Silver, from her drawings, enhanced with luminous cabochons set in a bezels. Here shown set with gorgeous blue Indicolite, a form of the gem Tourmaline, a birthstone for those born in October. The gems, sourced specially for these unique renditions of the fly, nicely represents the metallic sheen that initially interested Teresa, a sheen inherent to these creatures that are beneficial scavengers, pollinators and destroyers of noxious weeds.  Flies are in the Insect order, Diptera, meaning two wings.
