Large Provençal 1880 Serving Bowl

This large antique "Tian" (Provencal term for serving bowl), was crafted in Provence, southern France circa 1880. Round in shape, the handmade terracotta bowl has a subtle green glaze on the inside with natural earthenware finish on the outside. Use this important dish as a centerpiece on a dining table filled with fruit or vegetable, or dress this jardiniere with a flower arrangement. The wide decorative vessel is in good condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich patinated glazed green finish. A few chips here and there see detailed images, but that is what makes the charm of a piece this age.Measures: 30" diameter
