In 1970 the Maresh family was among the very first to plant Pinot Noir grapes in the Dundee Hills of the Willamette valley. Today 3rd generation farmer/winemaker Jim Arterberry Maresh makes some of the most elegant, critically acclaimed wines in Oregon that are often compared to French burgundy. Jim works with his family's old vines and takes a hands off approach to winemaking so the purity of the fruit and the terroir shine through.  His Dundee Hills bottling, his entry-level wine, is everything but basic. Jim uses grapes from his family's prized Maresh Vineyard along with fruit from friends and neighbors in the Willamette Valley. The finished wine is concentrated yet weightless, full-flavored yet velvety and an utter joy to drink. Wonderful notes of red fruits, flowers, and complex spices on the nose lead into a seamless, silky, and long palate. Drink 2025 through 2035 with roast chicken, salmon, or earthy vegetarian dishes.
