Little known in the states, Bobal is the second most planted red grape in Spain. It's indigenous to the Southeastern Valencia region and makes spicy, medium bodied, dark fruited wines. Pair with smoked or grilled meats, Manchego cheese, or Valencian Paella (made with chicken, sausage and rabbit).  'Dark ruby. Spice-accented cherry and dark berries on the fragrant nose, along with a hint of candied flowers. Fleshy, round and smooth in texture, offering blackberry and cherry compote flavors that slowly firm up through the midpalate. The spicy quality recurs on a long, supple finish that shows just a hint of tannins. This is quite delicious right now.' - Josh Reynolds - 90 Points
