Bedrock Wine Co. Old Vine Zinfandel

Morgan Twain-Peterson grew up watching his father Joel Peterson make the wines for their family's well known Ravenswood label. So it's no surprise that Morgan started his own wine company in 2007 in a friend's backyard with a couple barrels and a tiny basket press. The mission of Bedrock Wine Co. is to preserve, rehabilitate and showcase older mixed vineyards planted by pioneers in Northern California in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. A lot of these vineyards contain Zinfandel interplanted with other grapes like Mataro, Syrah, Carignan, Petite Sirah, Alicante Bouschet, Grenache, etc. From these special sites, Morgan crafts nuanced, small batch, artisanal wines that have won the hearts of critics and consumers alike. The Old Vine Zinfandel bottling is a composite of various top sites around Sonoma which are sustainably farmed, fermented with native yeasts and aged in a mix of French and Austrian oak (only 10% new barrels).
