Chateau Vilatte Bordeaux Rose

The Massart family acquired the multi-centennial estate, which was undoubtedly once the Feudal Castle's farmland, in 1973. Here, upon the gravelly-clay soils of the region, they make their wines in a very meticulous fashion. Old vines, low yields, and organic farming are all at play here. Their darker-colored rose, a style that used to be the norm in Bordeaux, is almost like drinking a light, chillable red wine. They inclued all 5 of the classic Bordeaux varieties (25% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Malbec, and 5% Petit Verdot) to create this fuller-bodied, floral, red fruited rose. This is quite vinous stuff, not your typical simple and fruity pink wine.
