Description The colors on this one are pretty amazing.  We think she overlaid the oil paint with chalk for some added texture.  Details Elaine Kaufman Feiner (American, 1922-2018) Blue Pulsing (1987) Oil on Paper with chalk Initialed and titled on bottom margin 35 1/4" x 45 1/4" (overall) 29 1/2" x 39 1/2" (paper) New UV plexiglass under artist's white painted frame About the Artist Elaine Kaufman Feiner was born in 1922 in New York City and studied at the New York School of Fine Arts and Washington University's School of Fine Arts.  After her move to Connecticut with her husband and two children, she became active in the Silvermine Guild of Art in New Canaan and a regular contributor to the local and regional art scene.  She became known for her use of color, and the renowned Hungarian-American painter Gabor Peterdi was a mentor.  He wrote that "one can learn to paint well, but colorists are born.
