French hoods were worn in the second half of the 15th century, the late Tudor and early Elizabethan period. This French Hood is a clay colored brocade with metallic gold, antique gold trim, gold chiffon veil and a topaz and opal jewel. These have wire in them to achieve the desired shape and an adjustable elastic band that goes behind the head under the hair.
