Bloodroot, Sanguinaria canadensis, Plant Family: Papaveraceae, Bloodroot is a small plant native to eastern North America. A highly prized herb, used in medicinal teas, medicinal tinctures and natural dye. Possibly a promising herb in the fight against cancer, although lack of clinical trials and studies has slowed its progress in the pharmaceutical arena.
