Hungarian conductor (1850-1898), who assisted Wagner with Der Ring and the first Bayreuth Festival in 1876; later in his life conducted at the Met Opera and the New York Philharmonic between 1891 and 1898. Beautiful cabinet photograph of the conductor, trimmed from a larger format, signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment and a 3-bar music quote from an unidentified piece. Size is 3.8 x 5.5 inches, mounting traces on verso, in overall good condition. ALSO INCLUDED is a cabinet style photograph of a portrait depicting Richard Wagner, Hans von Bülow, Franz Liszt, and Cosima Wagner. Size is 4.4 x 3.5 inches, probably trimmed from a larger format.
