Hungarian conductor (1855-1922), considered an outstanding interpreter of the music of Bruckner, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Liszt, and Brahms. Original vintage cabinet photograph of the conductor by J.C. Schaarwachter (Berlin) boldly signed by Nikisch at the bottom; blind stamp over the lower-right corner indicates the year 1896. Size is 4.25 x 6.5 inches, some rust stains and rust coloration at the top, in overall very good condition.
