American composer (1829-1896), pianist, and singer of Welsh descent. Autograph letter signed by him dated 1865, addressed to one of his friends. Size is 4.5 x 7.2 inches, 4 pages in one sheet, folds, mounting traces over the left border, otherwise in very good condition. ALSO INCLUDED is a 4-bar music quote from one of his songs, signed by him over the upper-right corner. Size is 10.5 x 7.8 inches, central fold, some stains, minor damage over the upper-right corner.
