One of my all time favorite fish! The Neon Tetra is native to South America where they form large schools in soft, acidic clear or black water environments. For many decades Neons we're collected in huge numbers and shipped throughout the world. Most Neons sold in the hobby now are raised on tropical fish farms in Florida or on farms in Asia. I am fortunate enough to buy from not one but two farmers here in Florida that have mastered raising Neon Tetras. We keep our Neons at 78 degrees, Ph of 7.8, and a water hardness of 200 ppm.
