The Gemological Institute of America identifies it as ‘Emerald’ as does Switzerland, the Gemmological Association of Great Britain says ‘NO’. The Brazilian Vanadium Beryl deposits have produced some stunning gems, whilst the Nigerian material is a lot lighter in colour.
